                  Andrey V. Chirkov (1917-1956) - the legendary pilot - fighter, the hero fights for Leningrad, a man of exceptional will power. During the Great Patriotic War, Andrey Chirkov not just hit all the extraordinary courage. It was he who opened the scoring aerial victories pilots of the Leningrad Front, knocking 23 June 1941 in the region of Pskov bomber "Heinkel-111". The air battle near the village of Pogost Leningrad region on the plane P-40 "Tomahawks" in the frontal attack rammed an enemy plane. He landed by parachute in the territory occupied by the enemy. I crossed the front lines and returned to his regiment. For courage and bravery shown in the battles with the enemy, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
