                  This is the only monastery that is located in the regional center. In 1866 this place was founded the predecessor of the monastery - Ekaterinoslavskaya female community, and in 1877 he erected the first church of the monastery - St. Barbara, and the female community was renamed in Tikhvin convent. Throughout its history the monastery was closed twice by the authorities (in 1925, and then after 17 years - in 1959). In its rooms housed a boarding school for children with disabilities. April 11, 2001 was established a central dome. Since October 2002 when the monastery began its Sunday school activities.
