Verstovye mile - building associated with the presence of the Russian Empress Catherine II during the laying of the Transfiguration Cathedral. In 1787 Catherine II assumed to go to the southern edge of Russia. Along the entire route of the imperial route reconstruction works were carried out: repairing roads, bridges, construction of temporary palaces, tree planting, the breakdown of English gardens. All distance path indicated by stone pyramids, and miles of versts: placing first every ten miles on each other mile. Mil built of limestone blocks and stood on a green mound. In the early 20th century monument was reinforced cement coating in order to avoid the destruction of the plaque. Today in the Dnipropetrovsk region remained only a "mile" in Dnepropetrovsk and the village Volos'ka.
