Considered the official date of building 1705, when the Spasskiy limit was rebuilt on facilities of colonel Ivan Iskry already as an independent wooden temple in place of the fire-damaged Preobrazhenskoy church. On legend, after victory over Swedes on the field of the Poltava battle, Peter I, resting in the house of colonel Kelina next door to a temple, served out here testimonial prayer service for the rescue of city. In 1845 above a church erected a stone large tent, and two years ago erected a small stone bell tower. In 1849 a monument was alongside set in place of rest of Peter I.
