A railhead is Poltava-Kievan is the station of the Sonth railway, being in the Kievan borough Poltava. The station is opened was in 1901, within the framework of building of line Kiev is Poltava - Vine. The station mainly provided the dispatch of trains in Kievan direction. In the Great Domestic war-time, on a line which the station was on, basic military operations were conducted between soviet and fascist armies, therefore the Kievan station, as well as Sonth, was almost fully blasted. In 1941—1942 on a line which the station is on, the offensive of fascist army was conducted. on Septembers, 23, 1943 Poltava was exempt and the new stage began in history of the station. In post-war time the station and station were fully vosstanovlenny. New building of the passenger station was erected in 1965 an architect Zinaidoy Kotlyarovoy. To the station the first trolleybus line was conducted #1 (existing and until now), which linked both city stations. In course of time the station became one of by the largest commodity knot on Ukraine. Near the station were built turbomekhanicheskiy, masloekstrakcionnyy factories, bread-baking plant, meat-packing plant et al. Presently next to the station a large pastry factory functions also.
