Церква св. апостолів Петра і Павла
Церква св. апостолів Петра і Павла
In the documents of 1796 about the Sts. Peter and Paul church it was noted that the church is wooden, old, but fit for the ministry. On January 22, 1834 the old church was burned because of unburned candle. Lightweight clothing, books, copies of parish registers from 1799 were saved only. In 1835 the villagers built a wooden chapel with a bell tower, which had the same name. In the early 1840s through the efforts of Count Wladyslaw Branitsky (1782-1843) construction of a stone church began. This church survives to this day. Construction of the temple has been ended by the wife of Vladislav, Countess Roza Potocki, after the death of her husband. In 1846 the church was consecrated. One-dome building is erected on the eastern shore of the lake. The central part of the temple is based on the circle, from the west the porch is attached to it, from the east - the altar. The basis of the church is a traditional for Ukraine three-part scheme, reformed under the influence of classicism in rotunda composition (the effect of the St. Petersburg school of architecture of the 19th c.). The monumental dome subordinates all parts of the building, forming a characteristic silhouette for architecture in Volyn. To the south of the church the arched bell tower without a cap, surmounted by a triangular pediment, is located. This church is an architectural monument, placed under state protection.
