The Baturyn Museum of Archeology started its activity on January 22, 2009. The museum is located in the architectural monument of local significance - the Resurrection Church-Parish School built in 1904. Restoration of the monument continued in 2005-2008. The significant archeological collection of the reserve became the basis of the Baturyn Museum of Archeology. The exposition is built in three thematic directions: "Ancient Baturyn", "Cossack Baturyn", "Baturyn - Hetman's residence". About 700 items are exhibited on the area of 128.5 sq.m. The theme of museum halls covers a considerable period of time - from the appearance of man in Baturyn and the death of the city on November 13 (2) 1708, because this tragedy turned it into a unique monument of the Cossack-Hetman era in the history of the Ukrainian people. Most of the museum exhibits are unique historical and artistic objects: the oldest bone hammer (about 5 thousand years), Trypillia sculpture, Slavic-Russian antiquities, Cossack household items, items from hetman's houses, artifacts of the heroic defense of Baturyn (body icons, crosses of victims, fragments of a cannon and a church bell), which are indisputable evidence of the looting and burning of the insurgent hetman's capital and the mass extermination of its inhabitants. The museum is annually replenished with new exhibits from the archaeological research of Baturyn.
