The complex of buildings of the Nezhinsky postal station of the 18th century is the only one in Ukraine that has survived almost completely: a stone two-story house of a post office with a hotel, an outbuilding of the station keeper, stables and a coach shed. In 1993, a department of the Nizhyn Museum of Local Lore named after V.I. I.G. Spassky. The exposition of the museum is devoted to the development of the horse post of Ukraine from the period of Kievan Rus to the end of the 19th century. The exposition is based on the stock collections of the Nizhyn Museum of Local Lore and exhibits collected by a local collector. The postal yard was reproduced on the basis of materials from the archives. The exposition tells how messengers delivered princely letters, how the Cossacks of the Zaporozhye Army carried reports, about the role of Ukrainian hetmans in the development of the post office of Ukraine, about what the city of Nizhyn was like in the 19th - early 20th centuries. on postcards. The museum presents a model of a station of the 19th century, original collections of everyday things, postage items: ink devices of the 19th - 20th centuries, arched bells, candlesticks, collections of postage stamps of Russia and Ukraine. In a separate room, the interior of the station superintendent's room with a postal employee's workplace is reproduced - an old table, chairs, abacus, postal instruments, an old wall clock and a mirror of the 19th century. carved by a local craftsman. A corner for visitors with a samovar, tea utensils, furniture, travel suitcases, chests, etc. has also been recreated.
