Founded in 1965 on the site of the world-famous Mezyn Paleolithic site by local archaeologist, local historian, artist Vasyl Kurylenko. The museum is located in a wooden house of the XVIII century, an ethnographic monument of the village, which belonged to the officer Palivoda. Since 2008, the museum is part of the Mezyn National Nature Park. There are about 50 thousand exhibits. In the 6 halls of the Mezyn Museum there are departments: geology, Paleolithic, Neolithic and Bronze, Early Iron Age and Middle Ages, XVIII century, XIX century. with the sectors of ethnography, astronautics, World War II, modernity and nature. The objects of the exposition consist of archeological materials from excavations and auxiliary maps, schemes, models, reconstructions, photographs, etc .. The age of the oldest exhibit - fossils of the Cretaceous period - 70-100 million years ago. Of particular value in the museum exposition is the department of the Mezinsky Upper Paleolithic site, which exhibits mammoth bones, models, ornamented statuettes of "Mezinsky bird-women", photocopies, etc .. tiles of the 16th-19th centuries, tiles from the serf theater of famous landowners Zabil, things of the Ushiv porcelain and faience factory of the Savytskys of the 19th century, dishes of the Bubble workshop. Next to the Mezyn Museum there is a museified excavation pit with a depth of more than 6 m.
