The museum was opened in 2004 during the celebration of the Second International Festival "Boykivska Vatra-2004" in Rozhnyativ region. Located in an old house built in the early 20th century by Ukrainian Count Dumka. In Soviet times, there was a court here, and then - the museum of the artist Vladimir Kharchenko, whose paintings - among the exhibits of the museum. More than 400 monuments of material and spiritual culture of Rozhnyativ region acquaint visitors with the history of the district from the 2nd to the 5th century AD and to the present day. Interesting and informative for visitors will be a showcase with materials representing the school of the last century, namely: primer of the 20th year, student board, soon multiplier, catechism for students, notebooks in mathematics, language, calligraphy, books in Polish; as well as a showcase with books published in the 30s, magazines and photos of our region. The second hall presents all the diversity of Boyko folk art, including weaving and embroidery. The exposition of the museum includes Boyko chests made of planar - geometric carvings. The exposition of the museum includes a large number of household items, including wooden utensils, which were very popular: a stupa, a millstone, a sieve, nights, barrels, a buttermilk. Visitors to the museum can get acquainted with a unique collection of Boyko jugs and pottery. In September 2011, the Rozhnyativshchyna Tourist Information Center was opened in the museum.
