                  The Nikopol Museum of Local Lore was founded on the initiative of the Department of Public Education of the Executive Committee of the Nikopol Council of Workers 'and Peasants' Deputies on the basis of an art collection confiscated from a local landowner. Opened on May 18, 1919 (the museum's birthday) as a folk museum of fine arts, which had 688 exhibits. The museum houses valuable collections of archeological monuments, ceramics, Ukrainian towels, household items, weapons of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, cult utensils of the Zaporozhian Sich Holy Intercession Church, and rare old prints.
