                  The place of the armed defence of Carpathian Ukraine and death of its defenders. In September, 1938 the autonomy of Podkarpatskaya Rus was organized as a part of Czechoslovakia, and in March, 1939 the independence of Ukraine of Carpathians was proclaimed. With proclamation of independence the Carpathian Ukraine confirmed parliament (sejm) and the Constitution. The Carpathian Ukraine lasted a few days. In March, 1939 it fell under the shots of the Hungarian troops. A decision battle happened in 12 km from Khust which then was the capital of the Carpathian Ukraine, on the Kopanske (Red) field.
