Area -823 ha reserve is located on one of the peaks Gutinskogo Ridge - Black Mountain (508 m above sea level), in a warm climate zone. The main vegetation reserve - oak and beech forests, heat-loving shrubs, rare medicinal herbs. The central core of vertebrate fauna species here are the taiga and alpine complexes. In the highlands, at an altitude of 1,800 m, encountered snow and alpine vole chanter listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Typical inhabitants of coniferous and mixed forests and Montenegro are three-toed woodpecker, Goldcrest, thrush, grouse, lynx, bear, etc.
