A salt lake of anthropogenic origin, on the degree of mineralization of water it is the analogue of the Dead Sea. A lake arose up in 1902 in place of salt mine. It is adopted by the name of the Hungarian tsarina Kunihunda, wife of the Kyiv prince Yaropolk. She, according to legend, was stopped here on a road to Kyiv. Now the lake is surrounded by a number of similar lakes. Salinity of water in them arrives at 32-35%. For a year the temperature of water does not go down below 17°C, in summer - 25-27°С.
