                  The new cathedral in Uzhgorod, built on the model of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. The cathedral has two floors: the lower church, Holy Cross 6 meters high and upper Christ the Savior Cathedral, 36 meters. The total height of the cathedral about 60 meters, it is the same length and width of 45 meters. The new council seats up to 5000 people. The first service was held on September 27, 2000 in honor of the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity of Jesus Christ and the sanctification of space for the construction of the monument to Cyril and Methodius. Financing of the cathedral is mainly on donations from believers themselves Uzhgorod. In 1998 the cathedral was a museum of church icons and books.
