Founded the monastery in 1654, but currently its development began in 1708 when the monks moved here from Pochaev monastery (now Laurel) led by Abbot and custody of the monastery took the hetman Ivan Skoropadsky. First, all the buildings of the monastery were wooden, but in 1741 began construction of the stone church of St. George. Construction of the basilica funded Cossack, and it lasted for as many as 29 years. The cathedral was the main building of the monastery and one of the best examples of Ukrainian Baroque. In Soviet times, the monastery was closed. For a long time, it contained a nursing home. In 1995 the monastery was reopened and in 1997 it was donated to the Orthodox sanctuary - the famous icon of "Az am the you and no one on you."
