Title: Yampil City Title: District Administrative Center Yampil Location: Located on the Dnister River in 157 km south of Vinnytsia. Population: 11,000 thousand people Area: 9.5 sq. km. km. In 1795, Yampil became a county town of Podillia province of Russia, though in fact remained a big village. On July 21, 1941 the city was occupied by German and Romanian troops in the area was transformed into the so-called Dzhugastrianskyi County. During 17-20 March 1944 in the city liberated by the forces of the 2nd Ukrainian Front. Status of the district center retains to this day, but remains one of the most backward district centers area.
