In 2016, a museum of Nikolai Dmitrievich Leontovich was opened in the small village of Markovka. The institution is a branch of the Vinnytsia Regional Museum of Local Lore. The new exposition was created to immortalize the name and achievements of the famous Ukrainian composer. Leontovich was not only a composer, but also a choral conductor, folklorist, teacher and public figure who will forever remain in the history of Ukrainian music. The museum was opened on August 22 - the day when exactly one hundred years have passed since the first performance of "Shchedryk" in Leontovich's arrangement. In the same year, it was the 95th anniversary of the murder of the composer in the village of Markovka. Together with the museum, a magnificent memorial was opened. The exposition includes about 500 exhibits, among which most are the things of the creator's family: various furniture, pianos, books, originals of musical scores, as well as things made by Leontovich's father, and drawings created by his sister. This is a modern museum, therefore, multimedia screens and terminals are installed in four exhibition halls. During excursions, works of the composer are played here.
