                  Палац Браницьких
                  Палац Браницьких
In 1768, Count Franciszek Xavier Branitsky received a gift of Liuboml' lands for saving the life of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski at the meeting of the Sejm. In Liuboml' the tycoon built a large residence. It was a vast palace building, which consisted of four parts. Only a two-story south wing of the palace has been survived. On the north side to it a two-storeyed, but the lower building was added. The researchers suggest that the first and second housings were intended for the reception and a numerous magnat's court. In the north the complex of buildings included a one-story gallery (possibly, here a conservatory was located or balls were passed). Housing buildings were completed with principal palace housing (north wing). To the north of the palace a large garden was built, enclosed by a stone wall. Grandson of Getman Xavier Branitsky (1816-1879), visited the palace very often. He was known as a patriot. For clandestine activities of Xavier-junior the government of tsarist Russia confiscated his property and land in 1849. Learning about the imperial intentions, the owner allowed the locals to take away from the palace all they wanted. In the late 19th century a close relative of the Russian writer Ivan Turgenev became the mistress of the palace. Later she married a landowner Kappioni. The estate of Branitsky belonged to the family until 1939. After the establishment of Soviet power in the palace a detachment of border guards housed. During the reconstruction of the palace buildings waterproofing has been broken, and the basement was flooded with water. And also local residents dismantled virtually all construction. Only one wing of the 200-meter palace remained. In Soviet times, vocational school and school housed here. In the first years of undependance it was planned to throw the building to a local museum. Subsequently, the building of the palace of Branitsky was passed to the Department of Education. Now here the Children's and Youth Sports School (Youth Academy) hosts. The building is an architectural monument of national value.
