                  Reserve "Cape Martian" was created according to Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic on February 20, 1973 at the area of ​​240 ha. Cape Marian is a ground-end Nikita spur of the Main Ridge of Crimean Mountains. The huge limestone massif, down to the sea, randomly strewn slope in large blocks, triggering the formation of intricate ravines, gullies, ravines and terraces. This is a very small area a natural reserve of the Crimea. Cape Marian - the first Crimean Nature Reserve, which are sanctuaries not only land but also the Black Sea. Due to the unique natural conditions in the reserve there are natural parts of the coastal forests of juniper juniper (tree) of the Mediterranean type. In the reserve there are 13 endemic species, including bluegrass knotty, gorse crowded, geranium Crimea, cow parsnip fluffy, rank palmate, thyme and others. In juniper forests grow small evergreen shrubs - Crimean clean, jasmine bush, ruskus Pontiac, which are typical of the Eastern Mediterranean. At the very bottom, the grass layer of juniper forests grow cereals, which are mixed Crimean thyme, sunflower brilliant and many other species. The reserve is protected endemic species of fauna of the Crimea, of mammals live here four subspecies: the stone marten Crimea, the Crimean mountain fox, wood mouse Crimea, Crimean little shrew. Among the reptiles are registered in the Crimea are two types of endemic species (both species are present in the reserve) - the gecko lizard and the Crimean Crimean rock. Common animals in the reserve are proteins, hedgehogs, hare and many species of rodents. Birds are blackbird, finch, tit big, redstart, Crimean jay, great cormorant. It is estimated that the reserve nests of 26 species of birds and allows for the nesting of 7 other species. There are many wintering species, including rare black-headed gull in Europe. Along the coast of the reserve often appears the Black Sea dolphins - bottlenose dolphin, dolphin and azovka.
