On the picturesque north-eastern outskirts of Chernivtsi, near Prut, there is a regional museum - a cultural heritage site. The museum's exposition was opened for inspection in July 1986. The territory of the museum is a picturesque area with various relief, which gives an idea of the landscapes of the geographical areas of Bukovina. On two hectares of the already built exposition, two village streets have been recreated, which include five peasant estates, public and economic buildings (church, bell tower, town hall, inn, smithy). They represent the Bukovinian settlements of the middle of the XIX - first half of the XX century. The museum exposition demonstrates the evolution of housing and life of Bukovinians. Regional features are clearly manifested in the construction of buildings, the choice of building materials, construction traditions. They can be traced in the cut and decoration of clothing, everyday life, development of crafts, rituals, customs, traditional folklore. 35 architectural objects were transported and installed from different parts of the region. The museum continues to be built and replenished with new exhibits. Its funds contain more than eight thousand ethnographic objects, some of which are unique. These include tools, original household items, numerous samples of men's and women's clothing, carpets, towels, belts, jewelry, wood, leather, wicker and more.
