                  Name: Rohatyn City Status: Administrative center Rohatyn district Location: Located on the river Hnyla Lypa in a 61 km north of Ivano-Frankivsk Population: 8000 thousand habitants Area: 15 apt. km Reservoirs: River Hnyla Lypa Date of founding : 1184 Historical certificate: First writing mention is dated 1184 by a year, when a settlement was included in Galychyna-Volhynia principality under the direction of prince Yaroslav Osmomysl. In 1415 Rohatyn got a Magdeburg Law, and his rapid development begins. In 1772 after the division of Poland in composition Zolochiv region of the Austro-Hungarian empire belonged to the princess Liubomyrska. In June 1919 a city was entered by the Polish troops, and he entered in composition Poland. In September, 1939 as well as part of Western Ukraine was busy at the troops of Soviet Union as a result of pact of Molotov-Ribbentrop. In June, 1941 in the Second world war-time a city was occupied by Germans. From 1944 of Bear-spears again in composition Soviet Union. From 1991 in independent Ukraine.
