Title: New Petryvtsy Village Status: The village of Vyshgorodskiy district, Kyiv region Location: Population: 7747 people. Waterways: River Dnieper, Kiev reservoir. Year Established: the beginning of XII century Historical note: The appearance of the village is connected with the foundation of Mezhigorskys monastery, which was first mentioned in the XII century, but probably it had existed earlier. During the Mongol invasion in 1240 the village was destroyed. Nevertheless, it flourished in the first half of the XVII century. Cossacks made Mezhigorskyi monastery their own Cossack monastery. Monastery was rebuilt and grew and the peasants got more work and more salary. Since the construction in 1798 in the porcelain factory in Mezhyhirya number of inhabitants of New Petryvtsy begins to decline due to the amounts of deaths. The quantity of the villagers increases by the fugitives from the western villages who did not want to serve under Polish serfdom oppression. According to the census in 1864 in New Petryvtsy lived 1442 people. For community purpose from 1902 to 1910 on the initiative of the priest Kukulevskyi in New Petryvtsy was built Holy Protection Church, which is still open for people. After the Revolution, all church lands were given to peasants. During the World War II from September 19, 1941 to October 18, 1943 the village was in the occupation and was almost completely burned. 422 houses were destroyed. Since October to early November 194 the command post of the 1st Ukrainian Front was housed there. The main attractions of the village: Museum-Diorama "Lyutezhsky beachhead" , Stryn source "Dzvonkovaya Krynytsa", ethnographic complex "Savka Farm", the temple of the Holy Virgin
