                  Title: Village Zhukyn Status: Village in Vyshgorodskyi district, center of the village council Location: 18 km from Vyshgorod Population: 865 people Area: 489 ha Waterways: river Desna Established in: 1650 Historical note: Zhukin village was founded in 1650 year. It is believed that the name of the village comes from the names of retainer Beetle, who established fortifications on shore r.Desny by imperative of Vuytatycha, the magistrate, who served Vladimir Monomakh. There was a village Orthodox church, then a convent, which was the property of the Kiev-Pechersk lavra. In early 20th century farmers built two-stored school. In 1920 was founded the village council. In 1928-1929 collective farms were create. During II World War was established guerrilla group "Victory", September 21, 1943 the village was liberated from the invaders. In the mid-1970s was artificially changed track of r.Desna that deprived the village pier.
