Title: Novosilky village Status: village in Vyshgorodskyi district, village council center Location: in 25 km from Vyshgorod Population: 600 people Area: 315,15 ha Waterways: river Desna Established in: 1465 year Historical note:According to the legend when Prince Mstislav burned Olzhych city, its inhabitants in one of the sandy hills built the new village, which was named Novosilky. Village Novosilky was firstly mentioned in the census 1465 and in the census in 1593 was indicated that for the use of Pridesnyansky lands Novosilky pays tribute to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The main occupation of inhabitants was fishing and hunting, and in winter farmers carried firewood to Kyiv. In 1802 the village was a part of the county Oster Chernihiv province .. In 1784 in the village the church was built, and in 1911 - was built sch a school building. After the October Revolution of 1917 each farmer got incision land. During the war and the Nazi occupation 1941- 1943 the village suffered a lot - 152 peolple were killed and its youth wastransferred to work in Germany. After the war the village built up again. In 2005 in Novosilky was opened country club, organized a group of amateur "Encharmed Desna." Today in the village are working school, health center, post office, church.
